Is suffering from diseases a flex for our generation?

Is eating junk a flex? Yes, it is! Because those photos get the most likes on social media.

Is suffering from diseases a flex? It was definitely not when I was a kid, but today it feels like people like to add the number of diseases in their lists as the number of degrees in our CV. Why? Don’t you have these questions? When did this all happen? How can we just tell someone so casually that I can’t eat 100 things because it will lead to some ill effects on my body at this age when our stomachs should be able to digest anything and everything? There is a difference between our stomach and our appendix. It stopped working because we stopped eating raw stuff. Now I question if there will be a day when the stomach will also lose its ability slowly if we are in this position. Being vegan by choice is different, but in most cases, we see that people choose this option because they are unable to digest other foods. What sign is this? Is humankind not making up for these changes? This transformation in our food habits will result in some damage to our bodies. Here again, the question arises: why is our body not able to adapt to all these things?

Then we simply blame Westernization and eating Western food. I believe that eating food that is not grown in our country and is not suitable for our body type in that particular weather is wrong. But have you ever thought beyond that? The number of people working out [gym, other forms of exercise] in Western nations is nearly 25 % of its population, while this in India is only 0.3% of the total population.

Now you may counter me by saying that all these people don’t hit the gym, but they do other kinds of workouts, such as yoga. Indeed, there are people in India who prefer yoga over gyms, but even their number is so low that we can’t compare both scenarios. If you ask 100 random people about yoga, more than 30 of them won’t know anything except Shawasan. More than 50 of them won’t know the most basic suryanamaskar positions, and 80 of them won’t be performing daily yoga! This is what studies show. If we are singing praises of globalization everywhere, why are we not adapting this thing from the Western world?

I was telling my friend a day ago that I collapsed in college. I had to rush to the hospital for not a very reasonable thing as such! The matter of concern is, I was telling this to my friend as a joke but when she said that, dude don't laugh at it. This is not anything good to happen! That was the point when I realized how these days we are not taking our health seriously and teenagers have become friendly with getting sick every now and then. Why? Do we feel it is a flex to collapse in college? Is it nice to feel miserable all day?

Why are we not concerned about our health? Why don’t we get that it is everything for us? It is not going to be great in the long term. Taking care of your health is not just your duty but an investment in your future, which will give you good benefits. Health is your biggest asset, and we are making it a liability by making a joke of it! No, it is not a joke, but your biggest asset! But if we continue having fun with the health issues and don’t solve them, we will simply end up paying hospital bills at a certain age in life. All that hard-earned money will turn out to be of no use!

We students feel like studying the maximum number of hours we can, but what about the rest for your brain and body? We just want to go and crack that one exam for which we will stop eating because it will make us feel sleepy. I won’t sleep because it will decrease my study hours, and I will just survive on the bare minimum of sleep. Even if you are rich or poor, the only thing we all have in common is the ability to sleep.

Teenage is something that will make you or break you. Exercise plays such an important role in the lives of people that it can’t be valued monetarily! If we start getting it now in our teens, we won’t regret it in the future! Our parents had a different lifestyle. They didn’t hit the gym, but they did a lot of activities, which resulted in their good health. Like, as common as walking to their schools for a long time. We can’t compare ourselves with them in this case. Also, the food quality during their time was much more enriched than the chemical food that we eat today!

Health is wealth, which is something they used to say, but now we would say that if health is not handled, it will take away all your wealth!

Indian festivals and ‘saki saki re’

For the last 3 years that I have spent living in the heart of Pune City, the Peth area, the question I have in my mind, like many others, is WHY? If it was for 1 time, I would be ok with it, but this has become the scenario for every festival, and every event. The extremely loud music systems. So loud and harmful that the cat near my hostel was scared and was finding a place to hide desperately, so loud that the windows in my room were shaking, and we could feel the waves standing anywhere in the radius of 10 meters of those speakers. The harm it causes is a long list. But people are ready to defend it, saying, Don’t you respect these deities? Are you not aware of X leader’s contribution to history? And so on! But the question is totally invalid, because how much do you respect that god if all you are playing is item songs like Saki Saki and then changing them if some old man scolds you near the stage? Yes, change 2 songs and play the same bullshit again. This is how much you pay respe...

Song in the queue...

When you open Spotify, play a song, and then the next song is played according to their algorithm, it is sometimes a treat, and sometimes it happens to be extremely annoying. You are like, brooo, that was not today's vibe, that doesn't suit the mood at all! Spotify just knows how you feel usually and plays that, but today you don't wanna listen to that same song which you were maybe dancing to yesterday… How surprising it is... Your playlist defines you, as they say... I would like to deny that today. Bcoz I am not that same person when I've completed my targets, I am not that same person in the morning when I don't really have a mood to study, neither am I the same person who wants to stare at the sun till it goes down and it's so dark that mosquitos will have you for dinner, nor am I the same person as nobody loves me, and offcourse not the same as I can do it with a broken heart, mostly it also cannot be like I'm unstoppable ( although I wish it was). Government Gridlock, Grassroots Gains: Rethinking Climate Responsibility

Why Individual Action is the Key to Fighting Climate Change Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, but the debate continues: should governments take the lead, or do individuals hold greater responsibility? While policies and regulations play a role, history and evidence suggest that individuals, through conscious choices and grassroots efforts, have been the true drivers of climate action. Government Policies: Slow and Often Ineffective Governments have implemented various climate policies, from carbon pricing and renewable energy incentives to stricter environmental regulations. However, these efforts often fall short due to economic concerns, political instability, and corporate influence. Failed Government-Led Climate Actions France’s Yellow Vest Protests (2018-2019) serve as a stark example of how government-led policies can backfire. The French government introduced a fuel tax designed to reduce carbon emissions, but this led to mass protests as fuel ...
