Dreams

Such a fascinating word that is. For some, it is to climb a mountain; for others, to buy a house or a car, or just to earn enough money to buy these materialistic things. We often try to buy dreams when we grow old and call it adulting, because the 12-year-old you had a dream of becoming a singer or a cricketer, which faded away with time, and there were ambitions. These academic goals were no longer called dreams, nor was I. Why so? Are we less emotionally involved with these things? Absolutely not! We want that one thing to shine on the CV like nothing else. We want that logo on LinkedIn like nothing else. We want to post that screenshot or the acceptance letter like nothing else. But today, we are 22. Today we have once tasted the bitterness of that fruit which was sweet on day 1, but till you tried to go grab it, it was rotten. Were you late? Or were there more people ahead of you? If so, hypothetically, that fruit was meant to be yours, would you have walked those steps in 2 hours...
